Our revived weekly interview series kicks off with a chat between Joe and our "story of the day" editor Cian Guckian, who has lived between Ireland and Jelgava over the past few years. Cian talks about his experience working as a freelance journalist for the Baltic Times, as well as adapting to life in Latvia.

This is an absolutely wonderful reminder that one doesn’t have to cross the healing threshold from the past all by themselves. A professional counselor can be a great help to a person in the process of unmasking the hidden feelings, recognizing the triggers, and building the self-esteem which might have been lost over the years. Therapy is not only about going back to painful moments, but it is also about acquiring skills that would allow one to deal with them in a better way. The majority of people with regular support eventually find themselves not only feeling lighter but also more in control, and thus better prepared to face the daily problems.
